Two Awami League activists were stabbed by miscreants during an election campaign of Awami League candidate for Dhaka-2 constituency Advocate Qamrul Islam in the Kamrangirchar area on Friday.
The injured are Tanvir, 26, and Shiva, 30.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in charge of DMCH Police Outpost confirmed the matter.
He said the injured were treated at the emergency ward.
Tanvir's brother-in-law Masud Chowdhury said: “Many of us in the area were doing an election campaign for Awami League candidate Advocate Qamrul Islam. At that time, the miscreants stabbed Tanvir and Shiva in the back and fled. Later, they were taken to DMCH for treatment.”
The national polls is scheduled to be held on January 7.
