Following the transfer of Faridpur's superintendent of police, the Election Commission (EC) has instructed the withdrawal of three police officer-in-charges (OC) in the district.
EC Deputy Secretary Md Mizanur Rahman issued the directive to the senior secretary of the ministry's Public Security Division on Thursday.
To ensure a free, fair, and impartial 12th national parliamentary election, the Election Commission has decided to transfer the OCs of Faridpur Kotwali police station Md Shahidul Islam, Sadarpur police station Mamun Al Rashid, and Bhanga police station MA Jalil.
On December 24, the EC had already ordered the transfer of Faridpur Police Superintendent Md Shahjahan, and he was subsequently relocated on December 26 by the ministry.
