Member of Parliament (MP) from Jessore-3 constituency Kazi Nabil Ahmed on Thursday urged people to elect Sheikh Hasina as Bangladesh's prime minister for the fifth time in the January 7 national polls.
“We have to work together for this,” he said while addressing a rally as the chief guest in Deara Union of Jessore Sadar.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made tremendous development in Bangladesh and turned it into a dignified country. Only under her leadership can the progress of Bangladesh be possible, he said.
Terming Bangladesh as a role model for development, the Awami League-nominated candidate for Jessore-3, also said the country’s development activities in such a short time are now being discussed all over the world. “Different countries of the world now want to know the secret of this development program.”
Kazi Nabil added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thinks about the marginalized people of Bangladesh, not just infrastructural development.
“For that reason, she has arranged about 130 allowances including old age allowance, and widow allowance. She made great development in different sectors of agriculture, health and education. She has taken various steps for the development of the poor people of this country in the social safety net.
“There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to continue the advancement of Bangladesh,” the MP added.
Referring to the tenure of the BNP-Jamaat government, Kazi Nabil Ahmed said the coalition government took Bangladesh to a horrific situation from 2001 to 2006. “From 2012 to 2015, they committed heinous acts like sabotage, uprooting railway tracks, uprooting trees, and burning people alive across the country.
This anti-liberation clique has been creating the same situation since October 28 this year,” he added.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed later called upon the leaders and activists of Awami League to go to every neighborhood and motivate the people to vote for Boat.
