The Election Inquiry Committee served Independent candidate, actor Mahiya Mahi a show cause notice for violating the code of conduct on Friday.
She has been summoned as she started the election campaign before the allocation of symbols.
The actor has been asked to appear in person on Sunday.
According to the letter, after getting her candidacy back, Mahiya Mahi, the candidate for Rajshahi-1, consisting of Tanore and Godagari upazilas, began campaigning, which violates the parliamentary election code of conduct.
She also posted several pictures with posters asking for votes on Facebook.
The national elections is scheduled to be held on January 7, 2024.
