The ruling Awami League has picked Dhallywood actor Ferdous Ahmed to contest 12th national parliament election from Dhaka-10 constituency.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the announcement in a press briefing on Sunday.
Earlier, Ferdous collected nomination forms for two constituencies in Dhaka – Dhaka-10 and Dhaka-18 – from Awami League.
Despite being a showbiz star, he has not been seen in any notable movies in the past few years. He did not appear in any significant acting roles during this period.
However, he was quite active in Awami League politics. Also, he had done public relation works for the Awami League in various elections across the country.
