Talukder Abdul Khaleque, the newly-elected Khulna City Corporation (KCC) mayor, has identified three specific reasons behind his victory in city corporation polls.
These are party-organization, spontaneous support of leaders and activists and development work.
He came up with the comment after exchanging greetings with party leaders and activists.
Dhaka Tribune“Our party and supporters were spontaneous. And the people of Khulna had support for development. Because of which I won,” he said.
The newly elected mayor added: “during the election campaign I said that the development works of 200-250 roads, drains and canals are in progress. I will complete these tasks first.”
He continued: "There are rules of the city corporations, the elected councillors have to coordinate with me. The mayor will carry out his works with his specific goals. Whoever is elected to run the city corporation, has to do so with the mayor.”
Dhaka TribuneAfter winning the Khulna City Corporation KCC election and becoming the mayor for the third time, Awami League leaders and activists have greeted him with flowers since morning.
