Mentioning that no decision has been taken on the use of CCTV cameras in the 12th National Assembly elections, Election Commissioner Rashida Sultana said that they definitely want it but it depends on the economic situation.
She told reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka on Monday.
The election commissioner mentioned that while the use of EVMs was needed to be passed, the same did not require for CCTV.
She said: "It is a matter of election budget. There is no decision to remove the CCTV cameras yet.”
“We will understand the direction of the country's economy within this one year,” she added.
