Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the national parliamentary elections will be held in December this year or in January next year.
In anticipation of the forthcoming election, he instructed the party leaders and workers to reach out the developments during the Awami League period to the people.
During a virtual exchange of views on Monday afternoon, the law minister, as the chief guest, addressed the leaders and activists of Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria Awami League and its affiliated organizations, discussing the upcoming election.
The minister said: "We are currently experiencing stability, which is something that BNP-Jamaat do not support. Their aim is to destabilize the country. However, I will stand firm with the people and resist their efforts. If they manage to come into power through any form of conspiracy, it would be detrimental to our nation."
During his speech, the minister emphasized the numerous development initiatives undertaken in his constituencies, Kasba and Akhaura. Specifically, he drew attention to the issue of restricted movement faced by the public due to the presence of a CNG autorickshaw stand on one side of the road and a market on the other side. As a result, he directed the authorities to take appropriate actions to address this problem.
