The Awami League has nominated Noman Al Mahmud as its candidate for the by-election to Chittagong-8.
General Secretary Odaidul Quader revealed the matter at a press briefing Saturday.
Noman is the Chittagong unit organizing secretary of the ruling Awami League.
The Chittagong-8 seat became vacant following the death of Awami League MP Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
The by-election to the constituency will be held on April 27.
