Voters are teeming at polling centres for the city corporation polls, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has remarked.
He said this to the press after he cast his vote at Manik Mia Avenue’s Rajdhani High School polling centre on Thursday.
He stated: “It is false that the voters have lost their enthusiasm for the polls. All the voting centres are crowded.”
Saying that the voter turnout might have been poor in the morning due to the bad weather, he added, “The turnout will increase once the weather improves.

“I had to wait for some time to cast my vote as there was a long queue.”
Kamal said that law enforcement is carrying out their responsibilities as per the Election Commission’s directives.
“They did a good job during the national polls. I hope that they will do the same with the DNCC polls and the upcoming Upazila polls.”
Commenting on the election environment, he said: "Everything is going well and the voting environment is fair and free."
The minister expressed his hope that the voters will be able to exercise their franchise so that their supported candidate wins.
