Jatiya Party (JaPa) mayoral aspirant and musician Shafin Ahmed has submitted his nomination papers for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls.
On Wednesday, JaPa Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga signed the nomination papers of Shafin Ahmed, endorsing him.
Shafin’s nomination papers have been sent to the Election Commission and he is waiting to contest the DNCC by-polls using the plough symbol.
Musician Shafin Ahmed, member of the band Miles, purchased his nomination form to run as a Jatiya Party candidate in the DNCC mayoral race on Monday.
The deadline for submitting nomination papers is Wednesday.
The Election Commission has set February 28 for the DNCC mayoral by-election, as well as the polls to elect councilors in the 36 new wards added to the Dhaka north and south city corporations.
