1 killed in Rajshahi polls violence

He was killed in a clash over establishing dominance in polling centre

A person has been killed during a clash between the Awami League and the BNP in Rajshahi. 

The deceased is Meraj Ali, a resident of the Mohanpur upazila under the Rajshahi 3 constituency.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, district Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdur Razzak said: “Meraj was killed in a clash over establishing dominance between the Awami League and BNP in the Pakuria Govt Primary School polling centre under the Mohanpur upazila.”

Rajshahi district Awami League unit Joint Secretary Kamruzzaman Chanchal claimed that Meraj was an activist of the party. 

However, district BNP Organizing Secretary Golam Mostafa Mamun claimed that the deceased victim was a BNP activist.
