The detention takes place outside the house of BNP leader Abdul Mannan, who is scheduled to kick off his campaign Tuesday

Update : 24 Dec 2018, 10:12 PM

Police have reportedly detained four people, including BNP’s Executive Committee member Khaleda Khanam, from outside the home of the party’s candidate in Dhaka 10 constituency.

The detention occurred on Monday evening, after police cordoned off candidate Abdul Mannan’s home on Dhanmondi Road No 1 in Dhaka.

Mannan is scheduled to kick off his campaign on Tuesday afternoon for the 11th general election from Dhaka City College area.

However, why police had cordoned off his house is yet to be known.

BNP Vice-Chairperson Mannan is set to contest the polls, with Jatiya Oikya Front’s blessing and his party’s electoral symbol sheaf of paddy, next Sunday.
