Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will contest the upcoming 11th parliamentary election from Gopalganj 3 and Rangpur 6 constituencies.
“Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has received the party tickets to contest the election from Gopalganj 3 and Rangpur 6,” party General Secretary Obaidul Quader said at a press conference on Sunday at the party president’s Dhanmondi office.
The ruling party started distributing nomination papers among the selected candidates on Sunday, reports BSS.
Quader inaugurated the distribution at 10am at the party headquarters in Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Avenue area.
Sheikh Hasina was elected from Gopalganj 3 constituency in the the last generalpolls, and Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was elected from Rangpur 6 constituency.
The 11th parliamentary election will be held across Bangladesh on December 30.
