Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud has urged the BNP not to go away from the election and asserted that it would prove that people are with Sheikh Hasina.
Mahmud was addressing a discussion marking the 14th death anniversary of journalist Tridiv Dastidar, organized by the Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) at the National Press Club on Saturday, reports BSS.
He said: “I would request BNP not to run away from the election field … we will prove through the election that the countrymen are with Sheikh Hasina and the pro-liberation forces”
Replying to the statement of BNP leader Moudud Ahmed that Awami League wants to flee from the election, Hasan said: “Actually the BNP leaders have realized that the election field is not in their favour.”
Cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam, chaired the event.
The meeting was also addressed by the Dhaka City South Awami League General Secretary Shah-e Alam Murad, Joint Secretary General Kamal Chowdhury and BSJ General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana, among others.
