BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman can take part in the election process.
He spoke at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan office on Sunday.
“BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman can participate in the election process until the Supreme Court reaches a decision regarding the matter. Until that, there is no point of raising questions about his participation,” he said.
“Why the fear about BNP’s acting chairman?” Rizvi raised as a question to opposing parties.
The BNP leader also alleged that the government is going to aim for a one-sided election using the administration.
Earlier, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader urged the Election Commission to look into the matter of whether a fugitive convict can take part in the election process.
