As part of its weeklong program, Awami League carried out its election campaign in different areas of Dhaka for a second day.
The ruling party kicked off its weeklong nationwide campaign from Dhaka on Monday.
Central Awami League leaders, led by Joint General Secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif, conducted the campaign in Dhanmondi Road No 32 and adjacent areas around 4pm on Tuesday.
The party’s Kalabagan unit had organized the campaign which was also attended by Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
During leaflet distribution, Quader urged the people to vote for Awami League in the 11th general election to continue the development work undertaken by the government.
Another team led by Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman also campaigned and distributed leaflets among the public in the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque area around 11am.
A number of central leaders of the party who were present during the leaflet distribution also used the opportunity to urge people to vote for the boat, the electoral symbol of Awami League.
Two other teams, led by Joint General Secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Dipu Moni, carried out election campaigns in Uttara and Mirpur 10 areas in the morning.
On Sunday, the party had formed these four teams – led by Hanif, Nanak, Dipu, and Abdur Rahman – to conduct the campaigns smoothly and effectively.
The teams will speak to the public and inform them about the government’s development work.
