BNP councillor Monir Hossain has chosen to support Rajshahi’s Awami League-led grand alliance-nominated mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton.
On Friday, he made his pledge to support the rival of his own party’s mayoral candidate at Rajshahi metropolitan Awami League’s Ward 18 office, subsequently collecting publicity materials from Liton.
Monir, in addition to being the general secretary of BNP’s Ward 19 unit, is also the councillor candidate for Ward 18 of the city. He stated that he will run simultaneous campaigns for himself and Liton, adding that he will support Liton in the city’s best interests.
“The people of Ward 18 voted me councillor regardless of their party affiliation with the betterment of the area in mind, and I will support Liton for the same reason,” he stated.
