NSU organises event to foster cultural diversity

North South University (NSU), on April 1, organised an evening with its international students to foster cultural diversity and promote a cosmopolitan worldview.

The event, the first of this kind, is a reflection of NSU’s spread internationally in terms of both student composition as well as faculty membership.

There are hundreds of students from over 13 countries – Cameron, China, Ethiopia, Italy, Iran, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka, USA – speaking as many languages at NSU.

This “International Evening 2015” was participated by NSU’s Nepali, Somalian, Sri Lankan, Chinese and Bangladeshi students.

Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Md. Helal Uddin, additional secretary of the Ministry of Education were present in the event as the chief guest and the special guest respectively.

Muqeed Majumdar Babu, director, Channel i and Benajir Ahmed, chairman, BOT graced the program as special guests while Professor Amin Sarkar, VC was the Chair of the event. Professor Mizan R. Khan, director, External Affairs welcomed the foreign students, faculty members and other dignitaries.
