In order to encourage the young students in science, technology and engineering, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) observed EEE Day on Thursday at its campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.

In the day-long programme, the students brought out a rally in the morning and organized a technical talk session, quiz competition, project competition, G-Tech photography competition, games events and a cultural show.
Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB, inaugurated the programme as the Chief Guest. Engr Nurul Aktar, CEO and Director, Energypac Electronics Ltd was present as the Special Guest and delivered a technical talk on ‘Applications of Renewable Energies in Bangladesh: Challenges and Prospects’.
Among others, Dr Ali Shihab Sabbir, Dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science, Dr Khosru M Salim, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Dr Abdur Razzak, Branch Counselor, IEEE, were also present and spoke on the inaugural ceremony.
Later, the Vice Chancellor distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions. A good number of students participated in the day-long event.
