Number of HSC examinees declines in Rajshahi Board this year

A total of 107,090 students are going to appear in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations this year under the Rajshahi Education Board.

The examination is scheduled to be held from April 1 across the country.

The students from about 698 educational institutions of eight districts under this education board will sit for this public examination, which will be held in 185 centres.

However, this year the number of examinees has been reduced by 6,248 while last year a total of 1, 13,338 students appeared in the examination. Controller of Rajshahi education board Prof Shamsul Kalam Azad disclosed this at a press briefing held at the conference room of the education board in Rajshahi yesterday.

But he did not mention any specific reason for reducing the number of students this year when journalist asked for.

 “However almost all the necessary preparations have been completed already to hold the examination in peaceful manner and smoothly,” Prof Azad also said.

Deputy Director (audit and accounts) Akbar Ali and System Analyst Shafiqul Islam and other officers concerned of the board were present at the press conference among others.
