Update : 10 Nov 2014, 07:40 PM

Some 233 candidates, who scored golden GPA in both the SSC and HSC examinations, failed to obtain the minimum pass marks in the undergraduate admission test for 2014-15 academic year at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh.

The university authorities published the test result on Sunday night, which showed 1,200 successful applicants on the merit list, and 1,110 more on the waiting list.

The result is available on the university notice board as well as the university website, said Din Mohammad, assistant director at the university’s public relations and publications office.

A total of 6,420 students out of primarily selected 9,892 students were selected to appear in the admission test, which was held on Saturday, to compete for 1,200 seats, including 65 preserved seats, in six faculties of the university this year, said Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, convener of the admission test committee at BAU.

Around 73.87% of this year’s admission seekers obtained the minimum qualification marks –  30 out of 100 – in the MCQ-based test, while 26.13% failed the test, he said.

Those who made it to the merit list were instructed to download the “choice form” and submit it within November 19 on the university website.

The faculty-choice result will be published on November 20, and admissions of the final enrollees will be held on November 23.
