21.25% get pass marks in BU admission tests

Only  21.25% students have achieved pass marks in the Barisal University's Ka, Kha, Ga and Gha units' admission test for the 2014-15 academic session.

The result was published at about 7pm yesterday within 26 hours of the written admission test completed at 5pm on Saturday.

Details of the BU intake-test results available on university websites as ww.barisaluniv.edu.bd  and www. Barisaluniv.ac.bd, BU sources said.

A total 28,283 appeared in the written test in three shifts under four groups against 1,525 seats of 18 departments under six faculties on Saturday at 14 centres of Barisal city.

According to the BU sources, a total of 6, 011 got pass mark in the admission test.

The one-hour written test will be held in MCQ system with 120 marks and a candidate must score minimum 48 marks in order to be eligible for passing intake test.

There are an additional 80 marks reserved for a candidate’s performance in his or her SSC and HSC examinations.

The result of the intake test would be published as soon as possible through the websites and notice board of the university.

The selection would be held on the basis of marks obtained from the MCQ test as well as SSC and HSC results, BU acting register said.

Faisal Mahmud Rumi, public relation officer of the university, said, 7,662 students applied for the 510 seats under ‘Ka’ unit, in the ‘Kha’ unit, 6,530 students will vie for 490 seats, in Ga unit, 9,328 students registered against 300 seats and 8,852 candidates under ‘Gha’ unit applied for the 235 seats.
