As the Higher Secondary School certificate exam is underway, it might be a good time to have a glimpse of educational institutes in Bangladesh.
Currently the country hosts a total of 2,966 colleges across seven divisions.
Of the divisions, Dhaka, naturally, has the highest number of colleges. In 2013, a total of 961,827 students had enrolled in 763 colleges across the capital.
Apart from the capital, Rajshahi division offers the highest number of colleges for education seekers.
Chittagong, being the fourth in terms of offering college level educational institute, is educating more youth than Rajshahi.
According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics data, a total of 509,796 students have been enrolled at 412 colleges in Chittagong division.
Rajshahi, with hundred more colleges than Chittagong, enrolled fewer students than Chittagong. Rajshahi has been educating 407,278 students at 545 colleges across the division.
On the other hand, Sylhet division has the lowest number of colleges. It has 141 colleges for 155,442 students.
