296 to appear in SSC exams from abroad

A total of 296 students will take part in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examinations-2014 at seven examinations centres in different foreign countries.

The foreign countries are Saudi Arabia, Libya, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told this to journalists at his secretariat office in Saturday afternoon.

Of the examinees, some 176 students will appear in the examinations in Saudi Arabia, five in Libya, 48 in Qatar, 48 in United Arab Emirates and 19 in Bahrain, said the minister.

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2014 will begin across the country on Sunday.

A total of 1,432,727 students are set to appear in the examinations in 2, 942 centres. Of them, 733,202 are male and 699,525 are female.
