Primary Education Department has allotted 2,303,869 textbooks for distribution among students for the 2014 academic year in Jamalpur, reports BSS.
District Primary Education Office sources said out of the allocation 2,194,159 textbooks will be disbursed amongst 429,217 students from class one to class five while the remaining 109,710 textbooks will be preserved in buffer stock at the district headquarters.
According to upazila wise break up of allocation is as follows: 298,200 books in Sarishabari, 243,600 books in Melandah, 304,845 books in Dewanganj, 274,734 books in Bakshiganj, 462,700 books in Jamalpur Sadar, 294,924 books in Islampur and 315,156 books in Madarganj. District education office has taken all preparations to distribute the new books to each student on the first day of January 2014.
