Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Friday expressed his support for the proposed Qawmi Madrasa Education Authority Bill and called upon the government to take initiative to pass the proposed bill.
In a written statement, the former military dictator said the country’s Qawmi madrasa groups were still being neglected and had been facing discriminations for centuries, which was a shame for the country.
He said the country was being deprived of services from Qawmi madrasas because of not certifying them.
“According to a confidential source, I have been informed that country’s amended Qawmi Madrasa Education Authority Act is on the way of final approval. Local and foreign Islami experts have amended the act and thus, I am expressing solidarity with it,” he said.
