Education and Primary Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has called upon the Teachers’ community to play a leading role in building a new Bangladesh, underscoring that teachers are the architects of the nation’s future and key to shaping skilled leadership for generations to come.
He made the remarks on Monday while addressing the inaugural session of the 207th Foundation Training Course for newly appointed officers of the 27th BCS General Education Cadre at the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM), where he attended as chief guest.
Congratulating the officers on joining the teaching profession after a prolonged wait and overcoming numerous challenges, the Education Minister expressed regret over the significant delay in their appointments.
“The joining of these officers after more than a decade marks an undesirable and unfortunate chapter in the country’s administrative history. We must ensure that such delays and injustices are not repeated in the future,” he said.
Addressing the newly appointed educators, he added, “You are not merely employees; you are nation-builders. The Ministry of Education and the teaching community are one family. As responsible members of this family, you must uphold the highest standards of dedication, integrity and professionalism at your respective workplaces.”
The adviser also pledged special consideration to address the prolonged setbacks faced by members of the 27th BCS cadre. He assured that the ministry would take necessary steps to expedite job regularization and ensure promotions in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to reform, Dr. Milon said efforts are underway to make the education sector more dynamic and to expand its scope in line with national development goals.
The event was presided over by NAEM Director General Wasim Md. Mezbahul Haque and was attended by senior ministry officials, trainers and trainees.
