After 26 days of continuous protests and an Appellate Division order, the government is set to appoint 6,531 assistant teachers to government primary schools in Dhaka and Chittagong divisions in the third phase.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Monday issued related instructions to the director general of the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE).

According to the instructions, the DPE will manage the recruitment, placement, and other necessary procedures for the teachers.

The ministry's directive on recruitment and placement said appointment letters must be issued by Tuesday to the selected candidates who have completed health examinations and submitted all required documents.

The appointed teachers are required to join their respective district primary education offices by March 12.

Candidates must also send the properly completed police verification forms to the district superintendent of police's office by March 13.

The placement of teachers is also scheduled for March 13.

The instructions mentioned that if any appointment letter is not issued to initially selected candidates within the specified time, or if they fail to join the district office or their assigned school, relevant officials must send a detailed report with reasons and opinions to the DPE.
