The authorities of Comilla University have imposed a ban on all kinds of political activities for an indefinite time on the campus from Tuesday.
On Monday night, the authorities made the announcement, saying all kinds of rally and procession would be prohibited on the campus from Tuesday morning until further notice.
Saiful Islam, in-charge of Kotbari police outpost under Comilla sadar Dakkin upazila, said they received a letter signed by the university registrar, Mujibur Rahman, and would take necessary steps in this regard.
On the other hand, Udbatul Bari Babu, president of Comilla Dakkin district unit of BNP’s student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, alleged the university authorities imposed the ban to foil their pre-scheduled rally marking the Jail Release Day of BNP Senior Vice-chairman Tarique Rahman.
