A seminar titled "Awareness Building Against Sexual Harassment" was held on Tuesday at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), aiming to promote a safe and respectful environment across the academic and professional spheres.
The event, held in IUBAT’s conference room, was part of the university’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about sexual harassment prevention.
Advocate Kamrun Nahar, a member of Naripokkho, attended as the chief guest. The event also featured IUBAT’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, and Treasurer, Professor Selina Nargis, as special guests.
The seminar was presided over by IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdur Rab.
Dr Farzana Sultana, associate professor of the College of Agricultural Sciences and chair of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee, delivered the welcome address, underscoring the importance of building awareness and creating a harassment-free environment.
Dr Ferdous Ahmed, associate professor of the Department of Environmental Science and a committee member, gave the closing remarks, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering a safe campus.
The seminar was attended by department heads, directors, coordinators, and faculty members from various departments, reinforcing IUBAT’s dedication to promoting awareness and ensuring safety and respect on campus.
