Police on Sunday arrested another student of Jahangirnagar University over the killing of former JU student and Chhatra League leader Shamim Ahmed, also known as Shamim Molla.
With this, two people have been arrested over Shamim's killing till now.
The arrestee is Md Saiful Islam Bhuiyan. He is a student from the 52nd batch of the university's Pharmacy department and a resident of Maulana Bhasani Hall.
Abu Bakar Siddique, officer in charge (OC) of Ashulia police station, confirmed the matter.
"Police arrested him during a drive from the Turag area around 11pm yesterday (Sunday)," he said.
Earlier, JU's Chief Security Officer Shudipta Shahin filed a case with Ashulia police station over Shamim's killing on September 19.
