Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) in Tangail has imposed a ban on all political activities for its students, faculty, and staff.
The decision was announced in an office order signed by the university's Registrar, Touhidul Islam, on Saturday afternoon.
With this order, all forms of political activities on the university campus will be prohibited.
The office order, signed by Registrar Touhidul Islam, states that the ban is aimed at maintaining a conducive educational environment and in response to demands from general students.
According to Section 47(5) of the Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University Act, 2001, and following a unanimous decision by the university’s Regent Board, academic council members, deans, departmental chairpersons, provosts, proctors, and office heads, political activities are now officially banned for all students, faculty, staff, and employees of the university.
