The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published Saturday with an overall pass percentage of 74.30, which is 4.37% lower than the last year.
This year's results also witnessed a fall of GPA-5 scorers, with a total of 58,197students achieving the highest grade. Last year, the number of GPA-5 scorers was 61,162.
Among the country's 10 education boards, Madrasah Board topped the list in pass percentage, showing 91.46% success while 85.03% students have passed in the Technical Education Board.
78.04% students have passed in Dhaka Board while 79.13% in Sylhet, 77.69% in Rajshahi, 61.29% in Comilla, 67.49% in Jessore, 71.94% in Dinajpur, 61.22% in Chittagong and 71.69% in Barisal.
In Dhaka Board, Rajuk Uttara Model College clinched the first position in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Dhaka Board. Abdul Kadir Mollah City College stood second while Viqarunnisa Noon College third, Dhaka Residential Model College fourth and Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College secured the fifth position.
Out of 744,891 candidates, 102,496 came out successful. Of them, 393,899 are boys and 350,992 girls. 100% students passed in 84 institutions in Dhaka Board.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10am.
Chairmen of all education boards and education secretary, officials of Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education were present at that time.
The results are available at Education Ministry's website-- www.educationboard.gov.bd -- and students can get the results through SMS.
To get the result, the candidate has to go to the 'message' option and type HSC first 3 letters of examination board then roll number and send to 16222.
