Shikho.com suspends live classes, online activities indefinitely

  • Announcement made on their official Facebook page
  • 10 Minute School also stopped their classes
Update : 03 Aug 2024, 05:36 PM

Shikho.com, a prominent online education platform, has announced the indefinite suspension of its live classes and other online activities.

The announcement was made via a red-themed card posted on their official Facebook page on Saturday.

The notice reads: “All live classes and offline activities of Shikho will be suspended until further notice. We remain committed to supporting our students.”

The platform's founder and CEO, Shahir Chowdhury, confirmed the suspension on his verified Facebook page at 2pm.

Alongside a photo, Chowdhury’s post stated: “From Bangladesh's history, we understand that students and youth are the torchbearers of our bright future. From the ‘Joy Bangla’ of 1952 to ‘Tomar Desh, Amar Desh, Bangladesh’ of 1971, our national consciousness has always been shaped by educational institutions.”

Chowdhury continued: “I returned to Bangladesh with the ambition to apply global education standards and opportunities to our students' lives to build a strong and vibrant nation.

“However, today I am convinced that their courage and determination surpass our own. They have taught us the essence of true struggle. While we have lost much, their sacrifices have only strengthened our resolve,” he added.

He concluded with: “If you hear their call today, stand by their side.”

This follows a similar announcement from the online education platform 10 Minute School, which also declared an indefinite closure on their official Facebook page shortly after midnight on Friday.
