Update : 20 May 2024, 12:16 AM

Dhaka University students who reside in Kabi Jasimuddin Hall have held a protest for the removal of officials and employees living in the dorm occupying rooms.

On Sunday afternoon, students of the dorm gathered there and started the protest chanting slogans. Later they held a procession, at the end of which they locked the main entrance of the dorm.

During the protest, the students also padlocked the rooms of the occupant officials and issued an ultimatum demanding they be removed within seven days.

The protesting students vowed to continue their demonstrations until their demand was met.

Initially, there were no accommodation facilities for residential teachers. As a result, the administration allocated part of the building for bachelor residential teachers. However, although a separate quarter was built later for the teachers, the hall administration did not give back the place to the students.
