State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali has said teachers should be trained to implement the new curriculum.
She also asked everyone concerned to make the parents of students aware of the new curriculum, while addressing a seminar at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium on Sunday.
Sharing her experience of meeting parents and teachers recently, she said: "Our teachers and parents are not ready. They want old-fashioned tests and learning."
However, she said the government is working on the implementation of the new curriculum from the initial stage to build a smart country.
“As part of this, teacher recruitment procedures and training have started and more work is in progress,” said the state minister.
Saying that there is no opportunity for corruption in teacher recruitment, she said: "Most of them are rumours."
