The pass rate of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations in Comilla Education Board is 75.34%, which is lower than the last two years.
This year, a total of 110,655 students took part in the HSC examination under the Comilla Education Board, and among them, 83,370 students passed.
A total of 5,655 students got GPA-5.
Apart from that, the girls are ahead of the boys in pass rate as well.
This year, 46,985 boys and 63,670 girls took part in the examination. Of them, 34,177 boys and 49,193 girls have passed.
In 2022, the Comilla Education Board saw a pass rate was 90.75%. In 2021, the pass rate was 97.48%.
The number of GPA-5 achievers has decreased by 83,917 in the HSC and equivalent examinations of 2023 compared to the year 2022, which is nearly 50% less than the previous year.
According to HSC and equivalent exam results published on Sunday, this year the average pass rate in 11 education boards of the country is 78.64%
As many as 92,365 students obtained GPA-5 out of more than 1.3 million students who took part in the exams across Bangladesh under the education boards, according to the website of the education board on Sunday.
