Speakers at a discussion Frida said the pre-primary teachers should be more efficient for nurturing the latent talents of underprivileged students.
They viewed that the child students need more affection and nursing from teachers for their proper physical and mental development.
They were speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day training course for 21 teachers of Shishu Bikash Kendra and pre-primary schools at the conference hall of Rajshahi City Corporation.
The RCC and the Early Literacy Child Development (ELCD) Project are jointly operating 21 pre-primary schools for the underprivileged children at different areas of the metropolis especially in slum areas with financial support of UNICEF.
Shariful Islam Babu, mayor-in-charge of RCC, who addressed the inaugural session as the chief guest, says many of the children become trackless due to lack of proper education and learning based on principle and discipline and ultimately they become burden of the society.
He called for ensuring equal privileges for the underprivileged and distressed children for flourishing their talents.
“We have no way but to make the kids fit for the current challenging society,” he said adding that everyone concerned should be attentive in this regard.
With RCC Chief Executive Officer Ajhar Ali in the chair, ELCD Project Director Kafil Uddin Kayia, Programme Officer Tariqul Islam Chowdhury, RCC Public Relation Officer Kazi Amirul Karim and District Child Affairs Officer Mosharraf Hossain Prodhan also spoke on the occasion.
