The final round of the Inter-School WordMaster competition and the prize-giving ceremony was held on Monday.
The event was held at Pallabi Ward Community Centre in Dhaka, said a press release issued on Tuesday.
A total of 22 toppers from 22 schools were awarded along with five final-round winners in this day-long event.
The final round winners will participate in the National level WordMaster competition 2023.
A total of 22 schools in the Mirpur area participated in this competition. The total participants of the program were 120 including students, teachers, and guardians.
Prof Md Farhadul Islam, chairman, NCTB was present as the chief guest in the prize-giving ceremony. Farjana Sharmin, thana secondary education officer and Raymond Quiah, head of the south-western area, of Good Neighbors Bangladesh spoke at the event.
The chief guest appreciated the initiative of the school-level contest. He said: “Competitions like this will be helpful to encourage students’ learning attitude and sharpen their skills which will be helpful to guide them as global citizens”.
WordMaster competition is one of the revolutionary competitions that is arranged to make English interesting to learners, and to improve their self-study and performance in English.
