Alongside maternity leave, Rabindra University Bangladesh in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj has introduced the first-ever 15-day paternity leave in Bangladesh.
The university took the landmark decision during the university’s 24th syndicate meeting on September 26, according to a press release issued on Monday.
Vice Chancellor Professor Shah Azam chaired the meeting.
This new rule has already been implemented.
If a teacher or employee becomes the father of a child this October, he will get 15 days of paternity leave as per the rules. Paternity leave is available for a maximum of two children. Benefits available during educational leave are also available during paternity leave, according to university sources.
