A student was barred from taking the Chittagong University (CU) B-Unit admission exam for the academic year 2020-2021 for unruly behaviour on Wednesday morning.

The student was identified as Mehedi Hasan from Savar upazila in Dhaka, CU Proctor Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan confirmed.

The incident occurred in room number 534 of the Faculty of Arts and Anthropology.

According to sources, Mehedi wrote on the wall that he wanted to expel the examination committee as he got the question papers late during his admission test.

Proctor Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan said: “We handed out the question papers in the morning shift at 10am, according to the university rules. However, a student named Mehdi Hasan wrote on the wall that the question papers were being delayed.”

He also said the student did not know the instructions for the exam. When the examiner of that hall was informed about the writing on the wall, the admission seeker was rushed to the proctorial body and he was not allowed to take the exam.

“We are investigating the matter. It will be decided later whether he will be able to take the test in another unit,” he added.
