Five students have appeared for the SSC examination from jail.
They sat for Bangla first paper at 10am on Sunday, said Jessore Education Board Controller of Examinations Dr Biswas Shaheen Ahmmad.
He said that this year 1,58,202 candidates are taking part in the exam from Jessore Board. Among them, 1,50,447 are regular and 7,674 irregular examinees. The number of candidates sitting to improve results is 81. Besides, 105 disabled students are participating in the examination this year, 22 are taking the exam with recorder and five students are taking the exam from the jail.
He said Arman Talukder, a student of Kalabaria Higher Secondary School of Narail's Kalia upazila, is a prisoner at the Kishore Unnayan Kendra (KUK) at Pulerhat, Jessore. He is a student of 2021-22 academic year. The main centre of his examination was Kalabaria High School. As he is in prison, the authorities of Pulerhat Secondary School of Jessore's Sadar upazila are taking his internal examination.
Another student named Al Mamun Molla is taking exam in Narail District Jail. He is a 2020-21 academic year student of Noapara Shankarpasha Govt Secondary School in Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore. Narail Government Secondary School authorities are conducting internal examinations as he is in jail.
Sabbir Hossain, a student of Baragangdia Secondary School in Kushtia, is taking the exam from Kushtia District Jail. He is a student of 2021-22 academic year. Kushtia Zilla School authorities are conducting his examinations internally.
A student named Raihan Sheikh is taking examination in Khulna Central Jail. He is a student of 2021-22 academic year of Phultala Re-union School and College of Phultala upazila, Khulna. Khulna Zilla School authorities are conducting his examinations internally.
Besides, Hriday Hossain, a student of Khalishpur Secondary School of Khalishpur upazila of Jhenaidah, is taking the exam in Jhenaidah District Jail. He is a student of the 2021-22 academic year. Jhenaidah Government Secondary School authorities are conducting his examinations internally, added Jessore Education Board Controller of Examinations Dr Biswas Shaheen Ahmmad.
