Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said on Thursday that students will be taught coding from class III.
“We are going to launch another plan which is to teach coding, design to students between the ages of six and fifteen,” said the minister.
She said that students will not be shocked when they come to the university. They will be ready for university level from school.
“We want all students at every level to learn a language, ICT, soft skills regardless of the subjects they study. Students will learn various skills, problem solving skills. They will learn to be an entrepreneur. They will learn about values,” said Dipu Moni.
She said these things in the president's speech at the convocation ceremony of East West University in Aftab Nagar of the capital on Thursday.
The education minister delivered the speech on behalf of the chancellor of the university and president's representative of the university.
She said that the government is transforming the education system to create a smart Bangladesh. A new curriculum has been formulated from pre-primary to secondary, which has been launched. By 2025, it will be implemented in primary and entire secondary schools.
“Our students used to memorize before, they could not adapt their study with heart. Now they will learn through joy. Active learning will be experimental. What they will learn, they will also apply in real life also,” said Dipu Moni.
There will be no fear of examinations among students. There will be examinations but most will be continuous assessment, she added further.
