A total of 36 students from different departments under the Faculty of Social Science of Dhaka University will be given Dean's Award on Sunday for their excellent academic results in BSS (Hons) examinations under four academic sessions from 2017-20.
The students, who secured the maximum CGPA in the BSS examinations held from 2018 to 2020, will be given this prestigious award at the university's Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium Sunday morning, said DU Social Science Faculty Dean Dr Zia Rahman.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will address the program as chief guest, while noted economist and president of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) Binayak Sen will speak as the Dean's Award speaker.
The program will be presided over by Social Science Faculty Dean Dr Zia Rahman. DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad Samad and DU Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal will also address the program.
"We are excited to organize such a fantastic academic event as this is a vital and prestigious award for students, which was halted for four years," Dr Zia Rahman said, adding: "Besides students, we also invited the guardians of the students, who are currently staying abroad for academic purposes."
