Prof Mihir Ranjan Halder has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor (VC) of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet).
A gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Mst Rokhsana Begum of the Ministry of Education was issued on Thursday in this regard.
President M Abdul Hamid, chancellor of the university, appointed Prof Mihir Ranjan for the next four years, the notice said.
However, the president and the chancellor can cancel this appointment order before the expiry of the prescribed period should they deem it necessary.
Prof Dr Kazi Sajjad Hossain completed his four-year tenure as VC of Kuet on August 12.
On August 21, Prof Md Saiful Islam was appointed as the acting VC.
