State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain on Saturday said all government primary schools will remain open till 20th Ramadan.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function of Khanjanmara Government Primary School in Roumari Upazila of Kurigram.
The decision has been taken to make up the losses induced by Covid-19 pandemic, he said.
“You (students) are the future of this country. So you have to study well. There is no alternative to education,” said the state minister.
Zakir further said: “For the development of the area, roads, jetties, bridges and culverts have been developed and electricity has been provided to every household. Students are being given new books and stipends at the beginning of the year.”
Earlier, the state minister inaugurated the centenary celebration of the school by realsing balloons and cutting ribbon.
