A legal notice was served on the Khulna University (KU) authorities on Sunday for rescinding the suspension of a teacher and firing two others.
Assistant Professor Abul Fazal from the Bangla department was suspended, while the department’s lecturer Shakila Alam and history lecturer Hoimonti Shukla were fired by the university on January 23.
Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua sent the legal notice to 10 people, including the university’s vice-chancellor, pro-VC and registrar. The notice demands withdrawal of the suspension and termination orders within 24 hours of its receipt.
It also stated that the teachers were punished without any proof.
