Dhaka Education Board has directed four renowned colleges – Notre Dame, Holy Cross, St Joseph’s and St Gregory’s – to begin the admission process for the academic year 2020-21.
They were asked to complete the admission process by conducting virtual written and oral exams between August 9 to 24.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Ziaul Haque confirmed the development to Dhaka Tribune.
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, sent a letter, signed by Prof Harun-ur-Rashid in this regard to the colleges concerned on Tuesday, instructing them to complete their admission process.
College Inspector of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Harun-ur-Rashid has asked the authorities of the four colleges to provide the information of the respective students – who are to be admitted – to the Dhaka Board by August 30, said in a letter.
On June 3, Dhaka Education Board postponed the admission process at four renowned colleges to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and other circumstances.
However, a day before, these colleges were allowed to complete their admission process by June 20, but the decision has been revised because of the ongoing circumstances.
Earlier, Notre Dame College had decided not to take an admission test this year due to the coronavirus crisis.
Other educational institutions in the country will start accepting online applications for admission to Class XI (or Inter 1st year) from August 9 which would continue till September 15.
