3 DU students receive LG’s Disabled Students’ Trust Fund Scholarship

'This trust fund scholarship is a sign of love and appreciation of LG Electronics Bangladesh to the differently able students'

LG Life’s Good Disabled Students’ Trust Fund Scholarship has awarded three differently abled students of Dhaka University (DU) for their outstanding effort and results in academic activities and examinations.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman and LG Electronics Bangladesh’s Managing Director DK Son handed over the scholarship cheques to the students at a function held at the conference room of the VC’s office on Wednesday.

The awardees were History Department’s first year student Shahanaj Aktar, Sociology Department’s forth year student Enmanuel Titu Mondol, and Taslima Sultana Mitu a B.Ed from DU’s Institute of Education and Research (IER).

At the event, VC Akhtaruzzaman said: “Differently able students need different type of supports to realize their dream. This LG trust fund for physically disabled students will undoubtedly support and inspire them to go ahead in life.”

As special guest, DK Son also said: “Disability is not inability. Fighting many obstacles, the differently able students came to the stage of higher education and have proven themselves.

“Now it’s the responsible peoples’ turn to support their cause. This trust fund scholarship is a sign of love and appreciation of LG Electronics Bangladesh to the differently able students.”

DU Treasurer Prof Kamal Uddin had presided over the function organized by the trust fund, while History Department Chairman Prof Dr Ahmed Abdullah Jamal, Acting Director of IER Prof Dr Abdul Malek and LG Electronics Bangladesh’s Head of Consumer Electronics Mahmudul Hasan were present on the occasion, among others.
